Phi Delta Kappa - UBC Chapter

Dinner Meetings

Scheduled date for the next dinner meeting:

"The Principalship: Lessons from the Past, Prospects for the Future." with Tom Fleming
Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The UBC Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa will convene on Wednesday, February 8 to visit with colleagues and discuss
"The Principalship: Lessons from the Past, Prospects for the Future".

As they encounter the current labour action and their daily challenges, educators need to know "where we are going." Principals in particular will be affected by the major changes that will occur as a result of demographic shifts and other forces. This conversation about the principalship will help them to adapt their professional practices.

Tom Fleming is well positioned to lead this discussion. Now a Professor Emeritus of Education at UVic, he will draw upon his recent study of BC principals called "The Principal's Office and Beyond." His current book is entitled "Worlds Apart" and reflects upon the struggles between the Ministry of Education and the BC Teachers' Federation. You will be invited to ask questions of him.

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, February 8 at 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
